Measure the pore structure behind every fabric performance claim
Capillary flow porometry for woven, non-woven and geosynthetic media, including ASTM D6767.
Model: MPA-50 Macropore · Industry: Technical Textile
Technology principle
Technical fabric specifications promise barrier, breathability and filtration at the same time. All three are governed by the same pore structure, which is why a fabric that passes an air permeability test can still fail as a barrier. Measuring the distribution rather than a single permeability figure is what separates a fabric that meets its specification from one that happens to pass one test.
Applications
- Geotextile pore size
- Filtration fabric qualification
- Breathable laminates
- Weave and needle-punch process control
Key capabilities
- Lightweight, compact and ergonomically engineered, the M19 Micropore Analyzer (MPA-100) pairs a 15" capacitive touchscreen with enhanced pressure- and flow-control hardware, so operators run a full technical textile test sequence with minimal training and markedly shorter cycle times. Available in aluminum or stainless-steel variants, it ships with real-time remote support, USB connectivity and remote-control automation. Domestic manufacturing in India and the USA keeps maintenance cost and downtime low, and a 2-year extended warranty is available.
- Modern, low-training user interface
- Lightweight and portable chassis
- IP65 rated · GAMP 5 compliant
- Three secure user levels — Operator, Supervisor and Administrator
- Versatile connectivity — USB, Ethernet and Wireless LAN
- Flexible reporting — built-in thermal printer or network / PDF / CSV export

Frequently asked questions
How large a swatch do we need to supply?
Chamber size determines the tested area, and chambers are built to your specimen. For geotextile work a larger chamber is usually specified because a small test area is not representative of an open fabric. Tell us the fabric and we will size it.
Is this the same as an air permeability test?
No. Air permeability gives one flow figure at one pressure drop. Porometry gives the distribution of pore sizes carrying that flow, which is what explains the permeability figure and predicts barrier behaviour. M19 builds a separate Air Permeability Analyzer where only the permeability figure is needed.
