Quantify the fluid-handling structure of your nonwoven layers

Pore size distribution across topsheets, acquisition layers and breathable backsheets.

Model: MPA-50 Macropore · Industry: Personal Hygiene

Technology principle

Performance complaints in absorbent hygiene arrive as subjective reports — it leaks, it feels wet, it is slow. Each of those traces back to the pore structure through the absorbent stack. Measuring each layer's distribution converts a complaint into a specification figure, which is the only form in which it can be put to a supplier.

Applications

  • Topsheet and ADL distribution
  • Backsheet breathability vs barrier
  • Layer-by-layer stack work
  • Supplier qualification

Key capabilities

  • Lightweight, compact and ergonomically engineered, the M19 Micropore Analyzer (MPA-100) pairs a 15" capacitive touchscreen with enhanced pressure- and flow-control hardware, so operators run a full personal hygiene test sequence with minimal training and markedly shorter cycle times. Available in aluminum or stainless-steel variants, it ships with real-time remote support, USB connectivity and remote-control automation. Domestic manufacturing in India and the USA keeps maintenance cost and downtime low, and a 2-year extended warranty is available.
  • Modern, low-training user interface
  • Lightweight and portable chassis
  • IP65 rated · GAMP 5 compliant
  • Three secure user levels — Operator, Supervisor and Administrator
  • Versatile connectivity — USB, Ethernet and Wireless LAN
  • Flexible reporting — built-in thermal printer or network / PDF / CSV export

Frequently asked questions

Our media is very open and compresses easily. Is the measurement meaningful?

It is, provided the chamber does not compress the sample. High-loft media need a chamber and clamping pressure specified for them, which is part of the configuration rather than an afterthought. We would want to see a sample before recommending a setup.

Can we test a bonded multi-layer laminate as a unit?

Yes, but the result will be dominated by the tightest layer, which is usually what you want for a barrier question and not what you want for diagnosing acquisition. For stack development, testing layers separately gives the actionable answer.
